My name is John and I work as a field ecologist for the Wildlife Conservation Society in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. Together with an awesome field crew, we are collecting data for a study that assesses the impact of exurban development (building houses in the forest and on mountain sides) on wildlife. The study focuses mostly on the avian community, but we are collecting data on mammals and human activity as well.
I created this blog to share with you some of the wonderful wildlife that we see everyday out in the field. Enjoy!
